Dear CAS Junior parents/caregivers from the CAS Graduation planning committee,

Traditionally, food at the CAS graduation is handled by caregivers/parents of Juniors. This allows the senior families to enjoy the ceremony. We need a volunteer to be in charge of this part of the event. If anyone has catering experience, this is an easy job for you!!!! The duties of the chair include finding other Junior (and any other volunteers) folks to assist, soliciting donations from various merchants and family members, food preparation, and setup and food and beverages service before and during the event.

Diane Taboada, parent of a current senior, helped to organize this part of the graduation last year. She's willing to meet with Junior parents to start the organization of food for the event. She has sample letters of solicitation to merchants, both in hard copy and electronically. An organization meeting is scheduled on Tuesday, March 28 at 7:30 p.m. It will be at Diane's home of 943 Cerrito Street, in Albany. You can reach her home by heading east on Marin (towards the 80 freeway). Marin turns into Buchanan Street past San Pablo Avenue. Cerrito is one block past the light at Jackson. You can only turn right. It is the fourth house on the right, pink and green stucco.

Please call Diane at 526-6795 or send an email if you're able to help and to confirm your participation in the Tuesday meeting.

Here's the tentative agenda for March 28.

1. Review donations

2. Begin to discuss menu

3. Assign responsibilities for donations, organizing food preparation, etc

4. Other

Here's where we have received and sought donations in the past, but we need to get right on it because they get so many requests:

Albertson's 10 cases of water/soda, paper goods, "will fill in some additional items"

Cheese Board $25 in cheeses or spread

Noah's Bagels Solano Left over bagels

Peets Solano Tea bags

Semifreddi's talk with Michael Rose

CheeseBoard Pizza

Berkeley Bowl

Safeway Solano

Trader Joe's Pending

Starbuck's Shattuck Pending
