MEDIA PRODUCTION ASSOCIATE

ConnectEd: The California Center for College and Career is a non-profit
organization located in downtown Berkeley. Our organization works to
advance practice, policy, and research aimed at helping young people
prepare for college and career. The Center's primary mission is to support
the development of multiple pathways by which young people can complete
high school, enroll in postsecondary education, attain a formal
credential, and embark on lasting success in work, community, and civic
affairs.

We are currently looking for a full-time Media Production Associate. Under
the direction of ConnectEd's Director of Media and Youth Development, the
Media Production Associate will assist with general media duties as well
as more targeted assignments for ConnectEd Studios. ConnectEd Studios is
an online platform providing students and teachers access to integrated
curriculum units, multimedia resources, project planning tools, and
industry professionals to support project-based learning in schools. This
position will occasionally require some travel locally for video and photo
shoots, for ConnectEd-hosted events, and for work with schools, businesses
and other partner organizations.

Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should have experience in all facets of media production,
particularly digital photography, video shooting and editing, and basic
web design. In addition, candidates should have strong research and
journalism skills, and be self-directed, creative, and able to meet
deadlines. 

Responsibilities:
·	Identify and research potential subjects for short video profiles
·	Shoot and edit video profiles
·	Research and write new content for the front pages of ConnectEd Studios
·	Assist with video and other media documentation of ConnectEd events
·	Assist Director in a variety of other related tasks

Skills:
·	Proficient in Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro, and Photoshop
·	At least three years of direct media production experience
·	Familiarity with new media and social networking strategies
·	Strong storytelling skills
·	Strong writing, research and communication skills 
·	Experience or interest working in schools or after school programs
(preferably with high school students)
