Hello Families,

Do you remember the cultural/heritage dolls you make with your children?
You can see them on display tomorrow. See below.

Perspectives is an annual multicultural showcase that brings students of
diverse backgrounds to come together and perform on one stage. Perspectives
is one of the largest collaborative performance shows on the West Coast and
has been held at UC Berkeley for over a decade. This year, the organizers
of Perspectives decided to host a community art show for the very first
time in an effort to include the larger Berkeley community in our ongoing
dialogue about everything that makes each one of us unique. To that effect,
earlier this semester, members of the student body at Cal organizing the
showcase approached the students of Emerson Elementary with a call for art
work wherein they express their cultural identities by "dressing" paper
dolls to be displayed at the show. We at Perspectives have been so
impressed by the overwhelming response we've received from the students of
Emerson Elementary that we wish to show you our appreciation of all the
effort your children have put in; although General Admission tickets are
usually $7 apiece, we are more than happy to now offer tickets to the show
to every staff member, student and parent who wishes to attend the show at
a highly subsidized rate of $2 per ticket.

Remember, there is no limit to the number of tickets you may buy, as long
as the show is not sold out! We hope that you will all be able to attend,
and will be able to get tickets while they still last! Come show your
support of Emerson and Perspectives! We hope to see you in Zellerbach Hall
at the UC Berkeley campus on March 2 at 7pm, and thank you again for your
support of Perspectives!
